The restaurant’s décor is charming and inviting, with a casual vibe that makes it feel like you’re dining in someone’s home. The staff is friendly and eager to help you navigate the menu if you’re unfamiliar with Ethiopian cuisine. As soon as you walk through the door, the delicious aromas of spices and herbs fill the air, giving you a hint of what’s to come.

One of the highlights of Skyline Cafe-Ethiopian Cuisine is the injera, a traditional Ethiopian flatbread that serves as the base for many dishes. Made from teff flour, injera has a unique texture and slightly sour taste, which pairs beautifully with stews, meats, and vegetables. The cafe serves injera as a communal base for various meat and vegetarian dishes, encouraging a shared dining experience. Whether you’re a fan of spicy stews or milder options, there’s something for everyone here.

If you're new to Ethiopian food, one of the best ways to sample a variety of dishes is by ordering a combo platter. The platter typically includes a selection of meats like doro wat (spicy chicken stew) and kitfo (minced beef), as well as a variety of lentils, vegetables, and greens. Each dish is packed with flavor, and the spice levels can be adjusted to your preference. The rich, savory flavors are balanced by the tangy taste of injera, making each bite an exciting burst of flavor.

For vegetarians, Skyline Cafe-Ethiopian Cuisine has an impressive variety of plant-based options. Dishes like misir wat (spicy lentil stew), atayef (stewed greens), and shiro (chickpea stew) are perfectly seasoned, offering a satisfying meal that highlights the flavors of Ethiopia’s vibrant vegetable-rich dishes. The injera is a perfect accompaniment to these dishes, providing a soft, sponge-like texture to absorb all the delicious flavors.

Another standout feature of the restaurant is its coffee. Ethiopian coffee is renowned worldwide for its rich, full-bodied taste, and Skyline Cafe takes pride in offering an authentic coffee experience. The coffee is prepared using traditional methods, and you can often hear the gentle hiss of the brewing process as the aroma fills the air. The experience of sipping Ethiopian coffee after a hearty meal is a must-try for anyone visiting the cafe.

In terms of service, the team at Skyline Cafe is incredibly attentive. They go above and beyond to make sure diners feel welcome and have a great experience. Great food and service. I was there a week ago with my wife and went back a week later with one of my nephews. He definitely enjoyed the meal.

The place is very dark for a restaurant, that’s the only issue at this place. The waitresses are very nice, attentive and friendly. The food is also tasty. I recommend “Banatu” for 2 people.

They have a fantastic zilzil tibs! It’s fried and it’s served in a sizzling pot. So as you eat, the meat is continuously getting cooked and warmed!
